Opens OK for me in Internet Explorer 11, not opening in Firefox but I have a lot of problems with Firefox.

I tend to use Firefox mainly because I like it but because it is used so much I have more protection running like the script blocker. This can affect some sites so I then try them on Internet Explorer. I only occasionally use Chrome, it is fast but has a very limited number of options - I also get annoyed at the way that Google keep trying to force it on me by lots of items of software wanting to install it without you noticing.

Firefox has always used a very large amount of memory but the latest update seems even worse than previous ones. The computer can get sluggish because of it and i have seen reports of it using 4GB of memory though mine has never got that high.

I am now getting blank screens and I think it is to do with their website. Yesterday it was fine but today even the text pages are very slow. However after a while the blank screen did go to a black map and eventually the map appeared but took an age to clarify at any zoom level.

Given the time zone I would expect things to slow down after Midday(BST) not before. I also wonder if location is a problem as well as I do know that some sites work better, or only, in certain territories only, e.g. BBC iPlayer.

Incidentally, you can download a .jp2 file but I can't read it! The tiff file said it will take over 2 hours to download so I gave up.

I have found that ER Viewer reads jp2 files but take 85% of my CPU to try to render it and I had to reboot after waiting 10 mins. This was a 516mb file and converting the smaller 20mb files to JPG makes them even bigger and cannot load them in anything!

Anyone got any ideas as I can't afford a new PC just to read these!
