I was about to start a new thread asking if anyone possessed RNAS site plans!
I didn't realise that the accommodation huts were interesting in being linked in rows by corridors at one end, something that the plan also shows.
Bdg 60 is the medical section, that is anotated on my more basic station layout plan
Regarding RNAS plans, I assume you have tried the FAAM? They sent me some copies of Dounreay and Stretton (In parts of course). Now need to check if there is a key with them!

Thanks mawganmad. I am too busy doing other things to go off at a tangent but it is certainly of future interest. RD (of Antlantikwall fame)has St Merryn on his site with a number of images of buildings in the Bomb Store area. I can only guess the function but suspect that some are post WW2 construction.

Was on the phone to FAAM reserach library yesterday. According to the woman I spoke to they don't hold (or have heard of) site plans, or building plans and types.
I think the Admiralty just did things differently to the AM/RAF.
I do have a basic site plan of St Merryn, but it dosen't list most specific buildings and uses, but does with the important ones, and runway headings etc - just a general reference really. TNA/IWM might be better?
I have spent alot of time researching FAA aircraft in the FAAMRL and is well worth a visit.

Hmm. I think I contacted them by email some years ago, I tend to waffle on the phone. They replied and send me some A3 copies which I had to stitch together on my PC. They didn't charge as my list was large and they didn't have them all.
Could be a cataloging problem or change of management/structure? Either way not helpful.
The source of basic layouts of RNAS stations seems to be some sort of navigational publication similar to AIR 10/4038/9. I haven't seen it in full but the plans are widely published. I think they came with both vertical and oblique aerial photos. Can anyone confirm?

TNA has some RNAS plans in a folder under MFQ 1/61 (formally ADM 1/16427), e.g. MFQ 1/61/11 Cornwall. Plan of camp and runways at St Merryn RN Air Station. Reference note to buildings and roads. Compass indicator. Amended to April and August 1944.
It's a 'huge' folder approx 1.5m x 1m (but not very thick) and has plans of around a dozen stations, but only building keys for Twatt and Yeovilton. The latter is an enormous plan which is impossible to copy; the other plans are just very difficult. You would have to stand on the table which I don't think TNA would be too happy about.
