You can tell a builder from an archaeologist by the size of his trowel. Mine is a small one!

Yes one has to rember that the ASUs were not necessary RAF manned, yes there was an RAF presence at the civilian run ASUs but they were MAP staff that were running the place. Im sure this was covered in Airfield review a while back, from memory Kemble was RAF, not sure about Aston Down, I suspect it was civilian, given the building types they had there.

I was having doubts about Aston Down mainly because I think that type of dispersal, the circular style, is unique to Aston and wasn't sure it was the same type. I am happier now though.
I am also pretty sure there were more airfields with MAP dispersals but since they seem to have been romeved, in most cases, they will be difficult to confirm.
