Thanks kebecker, I enjoyed that. As an 18 year old RAF Apprentice I spent many a lunch break inside one of several Mosquitos on Halton airfield playing 'hangar pilot' so I was well practised in getting up to and through the small access door into the cockpit.

Yesterday Channel tonight at 9pm Dieppe uncovered on til 10.30pm. Also a one-off documentary about Alan Whicker called; Journey's End at 10.15pm on ITV 1. I'm sure that Alan Whicker was in Intelligence during WW2? Got a video somewhere about this. We always used to watch his programmes during the 60s and 70s, very good too.

Just out of interest, Alan Whicker was a member of the Army Film and Photographic Unit which provided front line coverage of the war. As a result of its role, it suffered one of the highest casualty rates (as a percentage) of any unit during the war. Much of the film and photography that we associate with the war and is still used today was taken by the AFPU. Its descendant is the Territorial Army's Media Operations Group (Volunteers).

Alan Whicker took part in the invasions of Sicily, Italy and Anzio. He also took the surrender of the SS in Milan and arrested the British traitor John Amery.

It was also on earlier, same channel at 5pm. I didn't see it then as I only saw it in the TV guide just as it finished, but have seen it before, very good too. Earlier on channel 5 (8pm til 9pm) was the last of the Billion Dollar Wreck Hunt. Absolutely brilliant !! Three different wrecks were explored for their treasure worth hundreds of millions in silver and gold. A plaque with the names of all those lost was laid at the wreck of the Gairsoppa.
