6 RCAF Bomber Group (organisation, airfields, squadrons, aircarft, and their 70 crashes in Belgium (location, crew, evasion lines, cemeteries, PoW Camps, etc...). Busy for a couple of years !!!!!!

Cfr RAFM Airfield RSPs.txt (30.1 KB), is there an update since 2017 with new plan references ????

The index of Air Ministry Drawings (below) includes three for ROADE each suffixed (bs). The Key heading the list shows (bs) as Bomb Stores and this is an error.
Roade (Salcey Forest) site was an RAF Equipment Depot and the applicable Key is (ED)

Plan A is always more effective when the problem you are working on understands that Plan B will involve the use of dynamite

TNA DEFE 221 has a large number of plans of interest - various dates in the last century. Unsure of access as most are described as 'Access conditions: Open on Transfer'. I've no idea what this means.
A very large number are of RAF Odiham, plus Upavon and Catterick (Army).
Examples are:
DEFE 222 covers RNPF Caerwent, later RAF Caerwent, e.g.discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/results/r?_q=defe222
I suspect accessing / using these documents could be painful.

No Amount Of Evidence Will Ever Persuade An Idiot (probably not Mark Twain)

If they are the full sized plans I suspect they can only be viewed in the map room which has very poor lighting, or did have when I last visited 18 months ago. Also impossible to photograph in one go.
The TNA page implies you can view them but it is no longer clear if you have to order them if they are off-site or available on the day. I did start to order digital copies of plans rather than view them but they started charging a fixed fee for seeing how much it would cost to scan whether you go ahead or not. Some large sheets cost around £30 each and I came a cropper once when I ordered copies of three plans only to find they were three copies of the same plan, so I stopped doing that. I now order scans of things I have physically seen.
It is a crying shame they don't retain the scanned copy for subsequent viewers to order via a direct download online at a much reduced rate. I did suggest it as a time saver but got no response.

Just noticed that DEFE 221, which also contains plans, includes some files that were only opened this year (2019) so maybe some of DEFE 222 is only recently open so worth checking with TNA first as some records are not very good.
