The one at Cranwell was built between the fire section and the airfield. The firemen quite rightly complained that from their watchroom they could no longer see the airfield.

We were shown around one but asked not to post any of our pictures online.
There is some serious filtering on all the cables in and out of the building!

I'm really only interested in pictures of the outside please, just to clarify building types.
I recognise the fact that some of the stuff inside the un-stripped ones may still be sensitive... I can't see any issues with internals of the ones that have been decommissioned though.

The equipment had been stripped out but it was a request when we around.
I have put some images of the outside of the Fort George building on Canmore and F lickr.
There was a BOXER site nearby which I think was normal though this one seemed to have either two towers or two sites quite close to each other, possibly something to do with paths through the surrounding terrain. Can't remember the details now.

This is the UNITER Building at RAF Uxbridge.

The indentations in the concrete are a common sight of bigger UNITER buildings.

The maintenance hatch on the right is made up of several segments of inlayed concrete that have to be dismantled piece by piece before access for heavy plant can be moved in or out.

Protected emergency escape blast door.

Fuelling point for the internal generators.
The camouflage is not normal, this was added for a film shoot that was made here a few years ago.
