I think that was fairly normal for that pre expansion era though Peter.

Looks like the ground is being prepared for some C hangars aswel, could it be early Mildenhall?

It certainly is Mildenhall, photo taken in 1934. Well done MM.

The clue was relating the the Comet, which won the air race to Melbourne in 1934 having taken off from Mildenhall!

Take a look at other 'Expansion' stations; you will see that the hangar arc is concave to the landing ground so Mildenhall is 'different. A good recognition point.

If this had come out better I would have posted it in the quiz,but my camera had a funny 2 minutes,it is actually Istres taken on the way back from Menorca last month,you can just about make out the parallel rwy and taxyway !
