Does anyone have a decent photo of a Pundit Light they can post up? I think there's the top half of one, on top of a building at Sturgate, Notts
I don't know what the building is though.
Richard, I think you're right in saying that the Pundit codes and the airfield ident are one and the same. It was the job of the Pundit Light to flash, in morse code, the station ident.

NPs book lists them (with the occasional error!) maybe best with Pauls permission to post up a list from there.
Don't forget the two letter codes changed post -war.
The best place to make a start on Station Ident Codes is Dave Smith's "Britain's Military Airfields, 1939-1945" (to which our very own norwichpaul was a contributor!).
Good idea to get something under the audit section though.

Its good to see these names. Some how brings them back to life.
My interest is airfields of the New Forest including Advanced landing fields.
Does anybody have any information on:
1/Homsley South
2/Christchurch
Christchurch seems to be a real problem, even the sites run by the USAAF squdrons based there dont seem to be any help!
