Agreed. The Tail Unit is not a Number 78 (TB) or 82 (GS) the fin profile is different and they are not offset for spin.

That bomb has a suspension lug which TB and GS did not they were chain suspended.

The first and fifth bombs are US (NATO) Mk 82 GP Bombs with a Snake Eye T.U. which are 2.2 metres LOA making the centre bomb around 5.5 meters LOA. There appears to be no provision for a fairing band between the bomb body and TU.

I cannot identify it. Perhaps it is an odd WW2 prototype

As part of the development of Tallboy and Grand Slam there was a 4000 pound development model produced for trial drops and designated Tallboy (S) - Small - Never intended to be operational. Around 12 were produced. I assume that the 4000 pound nomenclature referred to the empty case. Just a thought.

Agree the tail unit of the Debden example does not look right for a Tallboy Small. Too short/out of proportion to be a Tallboy Small as per the one at Brooklands? A "marriage" of two bombs?
