So the Red Arrows (aka The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team) are doing a display in Helsinki on 9th of June , but looking at the list are not doing a flypast on 10th June for the Queens official birthday. Remind me again as to who is the Commander-in-Chief?
And as the reds exist for RAF recruitment(fact), are we now recruiting in Finland!!!!!!!!!!!
Helsinki may be more of a flag flying trip especially with Russia flexing its muscles in the region. I believe Sweden is or has re-introduced conscription as a result but not sure about Finland.

Hows this for an amazing airshow line up - Wellingtons, 2 Flying Fortress's in formation, Sukhoi SU.27,Bostons,F-9 Cougars, Dorniers & more. These where just a few of the highlights from a great flying display at East Kirkby yesterday .................okay...okay...I admit it... they where radio controlled models..... but they where excellent & extremely realistic.
Not only did most of them look faithful to their originals but they where flown as close as possible to how the real full size aircraft would have been also. So there were no stall turning Lancasters or high speed Tiger Moth flypasses.
So here's some of my photos from yesterdays event (it continues tomorrow 1-5-17) from a thoroughly enjoyable Large Model Airshow at East Kirkby -
Excellent pics Steve.
Love the one with Just Jane and the Wellingtons in the background. If only they were full size.
And the size of that big focker (hope i pronounce that correct),... That is one serious large model.
Weather looks like it was great. When you text me I thought it would be too windy for those models.
Those Jets cost quite a few hundred to risk zooming around in crazy wind. Hats off to those guys.
Think I might have to give that show a try next year.

Btw, how did Just Jane look in her new paint job?
Cheers mate,
To be honest the wind wasn't too much of a problem on a whole although there where a few that didn't go up as it was just off their limits. It's well worth visiting an R/C airshow if they are large aircraft & flown realistically like at this show.
Just Jane's looking very nice & shiny after her winter paint job. I don't suppose operational Lancs where ever as clean & shiny but she looked great -
