I have only been twice to OW and the second time it rained so hard that there was no flying on the airshow day and the car park was mostly empty. Very muddy but we did enjoy looking around the various bits. We were only charged for a normal visit so was a lot cheaper. That was nearly a quarter of a century ago!
No Amount Of Evidence Will Ever Persuade An Idiot (probably not Mark Twain)
Here's a selection of photos from what is always a real highlight of the season, the Little Gransden Air & Car Show. It really does have a unique, laidback & friendly atmosphere all of it's own & is staged in aid of Children In Need. All of which makes it all the more of a shame as this may well be the last one they stage in it's 25th year. As the organiser pointed out, the crippling charges that the CAA will be charging to stage the event next year (well over double what they had to pay before) & then a 5 grand'post event charge' on top of that could very likely make staging a charity show like this impossible to continue...It'll be gutting to lose this show from the calender, along with the others we already have.
Anyway, on a more positive note, here's the first part of my pics from yet another great day at this lovely show & airfield. Many thanks to CDP for the company -
Some of the clouds where extremely dramatic as the afternoon went on, especially during Sally B's performance which really enhanced her display so I thought I'd pull back & get a few shots as she was repositioniong -
