Let's hope the story is exaggerated or false as "yuk" is an understatement, anyway. wouldn't the red fade more quickly than other colours?

I am not sure if the actual colour scheme has been confirmed or it is just the imagination of tabloid journalists?

Apparently the cost is £900,000

I get the impression that people are getting worked up about the paint job because of those photoshopped versions and the actual version will be more subtle. A Union Flag on the tailplane identifies but can be easily removed if the aircraft has to be restored to full military use. From various TV programmes, the paint jobs seem to be often just pre-printed and stuck on to the aircraft so I think the cost might also be exaggerated.

It is the tabloid press so do not expect accuracy especially when most of them are bitter opponents of the Conservatives and have taken every opportunity to attack the government over recent years.
