Hi Alan, the ARG page with info is currently in the process of being updated, and the is some transition happening in the organisation at the moment so the details might be changing soon... One of the other ARG trustees will hopefully be able to confirm that soon.
Thanks, yes I have used this site but mainly use my own receivers. Certainly the web based receivers can be very useful when local conditions are poor. Although a lot of the traffic is switching to automatic data based transmissions, there is still of lot interesting activity out there.
Thanks again for your response.
Colin
I have just posted a thread on Cooling radio station and the HF array called MEDUSA and then I came to your intro and HF is mentioned again. Not really spooky but better than just saying....
Welcome to the forum

I am still using a JRC 515 with a long wire for HF when I have time but my little ICOM R20 is a constant companion since by using it I can also monitor my local airfield traffic on VHF/UHF.
But, on this side of the world Pacific rather than Atlantic can dominate. Best make the most of it before our analogue HF goes digital via SATCOMMS,
I found the very detailed report on the HF radio station most interesting, especially that they were considering setting up an airfield there. Thank you!
Peter, good to see that you are still listening out although I agree voice traffic is much reduced these days. I know that many years ago when digital communications started, ACARS, etc., that was going to be the immediate death knell for us HF monitors, but thankfully there is still regular activity out there.
I am using an old Eddystone 680X receiver, together with a more recent Lowe HF-225. I still have an old working BC-348 (B-17, C-124, etc., deployed) up in the attic running off 28v DC. However I also monitor the VHF aero channels as well and decode digital TX with various software. I recall monitoring Diego Garcia many hears ago on the USAF HF nets, not too bad from my current location here in Ireland!
