There wont be any more prisons built, the government cant afford it. Waht could happen is that more cells are built at existing prisons, and they could do that by getting rid of the gyms. Why on earth have a gym where prisoners can build their muscles up and then beat staff up!!??

On the subject of prisons, the previous government spent £30 million of our money on various "studies" about a new prison in the Maghull area of Liverpool before a single spade was turned. And last I heard not one single spade had been turned!!!

Surely the answer to the prison problem is , rather than build more, make time spent in the ones we already have so unpleasant that nobody will ever want to go back a second time.

Shorter and very much harder sentences would be far more effective IMO.

I know it doesnt involve RAF airfield closures but heres something to with the SDR that Ill hope the government will examine. Did you know or were you aware that in the year 2010 the British army has more horses than helicopters!!!

Hi,

Forgive my ignorance for I could not find anything on this topic in the forums apart from this thread:
/community/showthread.php?4847-RAF-Airfield-Closures

I am looking for fast fixed wing RAF airfield bases either harrier, typhoon, tornado that are set for closure in the next coming years.

Currently I got Cottesmore, but any others I would love to have.

Thank you,

George

Nom one knows until the review is announced mate, lots of specualtion especially in Scotland.

My persoanl theory is the Harriers will finish, but Wittering is a big logistics base so it will stay open. And when it comes to the Navy carriers, I cant help wondering why the Jaguar maritime version wasnt pursued.

If Harrier goes I reckon Wittering could also go with all the expoditionary support units moving to Leeming with 90 SU
