Yes, I understand. I'm not falling over myself to view endless networks of trenches more a satisfaction that there are still records turning up in service establishments and someone sensible enough to recognise that they may have historical value. So much was destroyed in the post-war euphoria.
I received this today, perhaps this has been posted before, apologies if it has plus it may be in the wrong slot
This is a remarkable series of (Kodachrome?) photographs, mainly taken during WW11. Some of them are quite amateurish, as though taken on the QT, but they all convey the colour reality of those times. There are a hell of a lot, allow 30 to 40 minutes if you want to peruse at leisure! Move the cursor to the bottom of the image to display the current range. Amazing
There are some cracking photos amongst that lot, including a colour photo of a Barracuda with a red headed torpedo (or are they all Whiteheads:))
Many of them look like shots taken for magazines like Life or one of the other pictorials. Some I recognise but most I don't. There is a mix of locations with UK, Europe. Med, North Africa, Canada, USA, South Africa, India, Malta and many others. I haven't got to the end yet but no bombing ranges yet Althought there was a yellow Battle towing a drogue (Canada, US or SA?)

Just been browsing the NCAP site and I noticed another batch of aerial photos have been added and this lot seems to be mainly Oxfordshire. There is some good coverage of some parts dating to 1963 and 1969 (Abingdon, Benson, Chalgrove and more)
For my part (Bombing ranges) Benson shows the remains of the airfield bombing range direction arrow, but no target. Odstone show the soil mark of the old target in both 1963 and 1969 and the arrow in 1969 only. Warpsgrove shows the triangular target as a fading soil mark in 1963.
