That’s the Pastscape reference number, not the location

It seems to have been HERE . No evidence on GE, just a couple of long-abandoned gateways from Owe's Lane to the north.

Thanks for that...A case for "Specsavers"! The actual reference is 432948 and is indeed where you place it...The site had been demolished by 1970 and as you say there is little evidence on Google Earth...The 1951 map does not give any clues and aerial photographs of the area are few and far between...In the past one would visit the local pub and have a chat with some of the old chaps ....Unfortunately nowadays pubs and knowledgeable locals are in short supply.....

According to Bomber County 2-addendum. USAAF ASR Fixer Station was at NGR 440920 and closed in 1945. That put's it south of West Lane. Nice concrete bridge access too.
