Im under the impression that the Lancaster will be based at Coningsby with BBMF, BUT the pleasure flights will be from Humberside. Im guessing that its for insurance purposes that the pleasure flights are not being done from Coningsby.

Ive looked at the RAF website. The plan is for the Lancaster to arrive in the UK on 4th August and then have planned maintenance and then to have a series of practice flights with BBMF. It should start display flying around the 14th.

Then there's the mouthwatering prospect of them both landing at EK and seeing 3 taxying round the place :cool:

Even better if 3 were flying.

That would be great especially as East Kirkby hold there annual airshow in August. Sadly there's no chance of the RAF landing the BBMF Lanc at EK. Would be great if both Lancs could overfly Just Jane as she taxes around though.

It's a shame the tour will miss all the big shows in July (Fairford, Farnborough, Waddo & especially Flying Legends) but great news for all the smaller lesser known events in August. CAN'T WAIT!!!:D:D

I only hope that Peel dig deep and get the Lanc up to Teesside and get themselves some good PR in the process , hope !
