The Britain from above photos do highlight one problem with looking at different dates. The 1946 shot shows a blister hangar and this is not apparent on the 1952 shots. More importantly the huts from 1952 are not on the 1946 shot. This means that the site was re-used for something else after 1946. The attached photo is a screen grab from Getmapping.com, which happens to have 1946 (ish) coverage of Harlow, and shows a different layout.

Note the screen grab has been taken from a screen that had been enlarged to make things a bit clearer. The coverage has been taken from the photomaps produce from RAF coverage for the Ordnance Survey around 1950 and the actual coverage dates vary from 1944 to 1954 but this is only stated on the hard copy version so I can't confirm the actual date of this shot.

I'm not sure if these are all correct but hopefully at least one is! I have used Old-Maps extensively on these and in most cases looked for the more clumsy additions on the early
post-war 1:10,000 series. Aerial photos have been used on most to confirm suspect sites including some 1946 ones along with those that happen to cover the sites from NCAP, CUCAP and BFA. Google Earth has a reasonable coverage with 1946 photos but Getmapping.com has a slightly larger 1946 coverage area albeit at much lower resolution online.

I think Kintore was developed by Fresson for his (pre-WWII) services whereas Dyce was developed by his rival Dower.

SP 023 430 looks like a new housing estate in 1946-1952 (Google Earth 1945 layer). The one I have used is a yard by the railway line that was empty in 1938 (OS Map) and an agricultural merchants in 1955 (OS Map). It is now a housing estate with no trace of the old buildings. The evidence is not too clear though.

I am always wary of the maps at the old-maps site. This one is date 1938 but shows the village of Caol which was built after the war, probably 1950s. Also Lochaber High School which opened in 1960.
