Epworth was classed as a major depot, No. 51, under No. 5 Works Area, Retford.
I noted that its address was given as West End Road. This road is an extension of Station Road and heads off to the north-west of the town.

I did wonder what you meant when you said bombing target 
The second site is the one I opted for but had no basis for that decision but the West End Road address probably confirms it as the site.

Any clues as to the locations of the four depots in my patch as I'm more than happy to go and see what's left , if anything ? They are ;
Callerton near Woolsington and an area now occupied by many service industries which have been built around Newcastle Airport
Darlington and a possible site just to the NE of the main railway station which looks promising on GE but which has been totally re-developed over the last two years
Market Weighton no idea

What's the source of this, Martin - phone book perhaps - date?
Confusion with Sulby IoM?
Selby is bang in the middle of a triangle of three depots: Wetherby, Market Weighton and Epworth.
That means it's between 15 and 20 miles from any of them. Would they need another one? It's certainly not mentioned in AP 3236.

The Callerton site could be at NZ 19030 70338 and looks promising on Google Earth's 1945 layer. It is nearer Woolsington than Black Callerton but I suspect this was to prevent confusion in names, assuming this is the place. The GE 1945 photoh shows it to be more like a builders yard which I assume it would be, given the nature of the role.
