Edit post programme ; interestingly I learnt through both the 'Echo article and the programme that there was a memorial to mark this event in Seaton Carew which was dedicated in May 2015 . I've attached a link from the Hartlepool Mail with a report on the dedication and I will leave you to spot the deliberate mistake ! ; www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk/news/environmen...hartlepool-1-7248350 and needless to say , I'm on the case to go and photograph it !

Hi Martin,
I did watch it,They probably wouldn't have got permission to fly a drone so close to the Oil terminal!
i havn't been over since the new heritage centre opened but think all the items will hopefully have been transfered over to the new one!
a trip is overdue i think!

I think the Z Battery is far enough away from the oil/gas terminal to not bother them - visitors are advised to speak to the security people at the terminal anyway.
Around 40% there was a feature on the restoration of the B-17.
THough I'm not an 'antiques person' I found the majority of the programme very entertaining with some WWII RAF medals and an 'LS Lowry' up for auction.
(Mods - I can't change the Subject of this post, which no longer applies).
Plan A is always more effective when the problem you are working on understands that Plan B will involve the use of dynamite
