PNK: The hangar was put there, I think, by Westwick Distributors to house its fleet of Tiger Moth and then Pawnee crop sprayers. As you can see, the hanger sits on the end of the runway, requiring an interesting jink on short finals. One wonders where the hangar came from.

Blimey I take it the runway has a heavily displaced threshold!
Pawnees don't bother with thresholds - jink round the hangar, slam it on the ground, screech to a halt, backtrack just below take-off speed, swing round, reload, get airborne again as quickly as possible. When I was last at Ludham a Spitfire was being rebuilt in a building at the rear of the hangar.

Pawneys might not, but there are certain regulations re take off distances and obstructions for any airfield.
MM: There might be rules on licenced airfields (or should we call them aerodromes?), but not on private strips, and that is what this part of Ludham was. We used to operate from all sorts of places, including stubble fields in Suffolk (landing within an hour of the combined harvester munching the crop), through to grass paddocks on the Sandringham Estate. Now there is a subject for study - private airstrips!
I think the hangar was placed there in the 1960's long before anyone would
concerned themselves with niceities such as rules and regs which were there
for everyone else and didn't apply to "me".
