Hugo: Now that is a question! We operated for seven years with just one Pawnee and our work took us from Essex up to Lincolnshire, although the bulk was flown in Norfolk and Suffolk. We didn't do too much spraying, except for the warm/wet summer of (I think 97). Most of our work was seeding stubble turnips. We used three types of strip:

Established aerodromes: including:

Boston, Old Warden, Old Buckenham, Swanton Morley, Sutton Meadows. We didn't like these because they charged landing fees.

Private airstrips:

Wheeley, Happisburg, Northrepps, Southerey, East Winch, Croft Clough Farm, Sutton Bridge etc

Disused military airfields (taxiways mainly):

East Kirkby, Bourn, Wendling etc.

Fields and paddocks:

Sandringham estate, Kennet nr Newmarket, Culford nr Bury St Edmunds.

Martin Burney, who posts on this forum, has a database of airfield, aerodrome and airstrip locations. I have seen him make many requests for confirmation of locations but I have never seen any products of his research. Would be fascinating to do so.

Thanks for that WJT. Well that's new to me, seeding from the air. I thought
it was only aerial spraying and furtiliser that was done in this way.

Martin Burney, who posts on this forum, has a database of airfield, aerodrome and airstrip locations. I have seen him make many requests for confirmation of locations but I have

I've known Martin for several years now. He has a massive amount of data
related to UK and Irish aviation and not just lists of strips, airfields ect. He covers everything
aviation. Me on the other hand, I only cover Irish av sites and I have a massive amount of information on my database related to that subject. I would guess he has a problem similar
to mine and that is putting personal/private details on the web, hense no lists. Martin will give locations of any site requested, as I will also do for Ireland.
