Ted, Ian and others

FanKit models are advertising a Crossley 4x4 Fire tender in 1/72. It's not cheap -28 euros plus 4 euros packing/postage. I believe they are in Romania.

Hi Dave. I saw a couple of pictures of one made up and for the price decided to stick to the one I scratch built many years ago. It is £3 cheaper than when first advertised so if the euro continues to fall may be I will go for one. regards TED

Silly question time. Why are vehicle kits in 1/76 scale and aircraft in 1/72????

Good answer, and one I might expect from a plumber!

And on the subject of scale has anyone seen the new Airfix1/24 scale Mosquito?

Because 1/76 fitted OO gauge railways - it doesn't explain why 1/72 vehicles never became popular [ one firm brought out a few] with the growth of 1/72 aircraft modelling.

Thanks for the link Ted. Think I've already looked at that but missed the new releases bit. More money about to vanish then!

Don't think the following are "new" as such (perhaps very familiar to some) but thought I'd flag 'em up anyway.

I've been browsing (and buying) from the following:

Matador Models ( www.matadormodels.co.uk/yairfield3%2076t...0airfield%2076th.htm )
Scale Link ( www.scalelink.co.uk/acatalog/vehicles___scale_1_76.html )
Firing Line ( www.djparkins.clara.net/fline/flmaster.htm )
MMS Models ( www.mmsmodels.co.uk/classic/index.php )

In the meantime, the following posts are kits just starting to arrive over the past few days. To start with, the simple one - Starter Trolley 1/76th by Matador Models in the Airfield Accessories range.
