Chris you have been splashing out : From BW I have just ordered another Bedford RL to complete my 1960/70s RAF Regt Bofor detachment, The RAF never used purpose built gun tractors, in WW 2 and the 1950s the 40/60Bofors were towed by Bedford QLs a kit of 2xQLs is due out from Airfix in a couple of weeks. The later 40/70 gun was towed by the RL as was The Meadows generator that powered it, Some RAF regt sqns used the standard RL some had the RL with winch-its body sits further back.
I am planning a small BoB diorama, for it, I have stashed away: a Convoy Models Crossley 6x4 RAF breakdown lorry, A Matador Models Albion Bowser, A thompson refueller and set of trolly accs from Firing Line, A Beaverette , humber Snipe heavy utility and canteen van from Bull models. I have done a Fordson Sussex Barrage Balloon truck. The Sussex is a Matador Model which started life as a hydrogen cylinder truck, I reduced the wheelbase as the kit is wrong. I had won a TRUX Fordson WOT1 Balloon winch on e bay. I heavily modified the winch as the kit wasn't very accurate, then married them together, it will tow an eagle Hyd Cyl trailer that BW has just released (£12) . By the way the same cylinder carrying frames were mounted on various RAF types for carrying oxygen- I have seen pictures of both Austin K6 and Bedford OY in this role from late 1943 onwards. Oxy cyl were black, hydrogen were until fairly late in the war silver some had a red band around the neck. later in the war they were a dark brown again one type had a red neck band, post war they reverted to the civvy BS standard of signal red.
I have several other Matador models to build; I was told Matador are slow to respond ?? so I have always purchased via Scalelink but they are pricey through them. i have a couple of other Sussex chassis/cabs which will have spec bodies. I picked up a few long defunct CUSTOM MINIATURES on ebay including RAF Fordson WOT6 signals and a Bedford QL RAF Ops Room. these will join my other 2TAF signals fleet.
Not enough hours in the day !!!

Just noticed this in my local model shop. I remember seeing Karrier Bantam dust carts at RAF airfields in the 1970's, but is this model based on something that actually existed? www.anticsonline.co.uk/1751_1_1624717.html
Also, I have just finished another BW models TACR2, this time converting it back to an original TACR2 and finishing it in the markings of the two vehicles at RAF St Mawgan. Unfortunately I couldn't find any 'Aircraft Crash Rescue' markings small enough to go over the windscreen.

The RAF had many versions on the Bantam the first in aboput 1938, It is authentic my only comment is the dropsides are a little high. the flat platform versions were more common plus there were several dierent specialist box bodies
