Greetings to the forum. Just registered. Now resident in the British Virgin Islands but born and raised at St Athan, S.Wales.
Currently researching RAF St Athan & RAF Llandow WW2 era and aircraft disposal there from 1944 to 1948.
Information welcome.
Cheers, Busterbvi.
Hi Buster, I'm new here as well and used to live in the BVI, on Tortola, East End. Moved back nearly 6 years ago. Looking forward to visiting more airfield sites.
Only experience of Llandow is a few track days a couple of years ago
Seasons Greetings everyone,
just joined, been interested in aircraft virtually all my life,
now retired,
live in North Wales, not far from Llanbedr, find it poignant and sad to see airfields standing disused after many years faithful service to the country,
look forward to educating myself further via this site!
Hi TT
Welcome to the forum, hope you enjoy surfing the site, its full of information,
" The Ship Aground" not a bad pub either, im just up the road at Dyffryn Ardudwy, southern end off Llanbedr 17/35 main, lets hope David Young, gets its open for real next year,
Regards Ian
Many Thanks for welcome,
yes, know Dyffryn quite well, amongst other things bought car from garage there, family run place, pleased with service.
On a few occasions I have seen people walking and cycling on Llanbedr airfield, but also spoke with someone who had tried it and security person turned up and was none too pleased, so I guess its a no no!
Happy New Year.
