Hi Paul, welcome

I'm very much in favour of solar farms where they do preserve the airfield intact and don't involve the demolition of any structures.

I personally feel that this use is much preferable to other forms of development involving flattening everything and building on the top.

Not everyone on here agrees with me though...

Yes, I'm back(ish).

I hear that a solar park is now the likely outcome at West Raynham, ramrodded by the landowner.

I thought the site was sold to Roger Gawn and then his company went into administration?
So who owns it now? Welbeck Homes use to...

Roger Gawn has been given the Order of the Boot - thank F

Good Energy is in the process of asking for Planning Permission for the WR airfield site, for a solar farm on the former airfield/runway. They hope to have this by Spring next year.

If permission is obtained, they will be giving a sum of money towards the WR Memorial appeal

Investec currently owns the former West Raynham site.

Living as I do midway between Bramcote and Nuneaton I,ve developed an interest in local airfields.
Before their demise my parents lived in Wellesbourne Mountford , so I,m on here to glean more information if anyone can point me in the wright direction.
