I joined the forum to learn more about UK RAF Airfields, hopefully to find out where my ex RAF land Rover might have been based. Would love to here from anyone who was in active service especially with RAF Series 1 Land Rovers from 1952 to 1968 (the year my ex glider tow truck 41AA40 was sold out of service). I used to be in the ATC over 40 years ago, sadly never entered service due to failed medical:sad:

.I am Robert and I live in Kempsey in Worcestershire. That's just up the road from what was RAF Defford . I am also an amateur Archaeologist and know Dennis quite well but my profession is that of being a Geologist. That means I am interested in the Defford brine springs very close to the airfield.

My father was RAF based at Coltishall and Horsham St.Faiths just after the war.
