I stopped contributing cash to VTTS, my opinion, it is just a money pit. I responded to virtually every appeal thinking I'd done my bit, to see another plea for cash a few weeks later, and again and again

A time comes to just say enough is enough
Pleased to see that there is another person who has seen the light. Since this aircraft has been around since 1960 is it about time it was retired to a museum?
Paul & Mike ~ I can understand your point of view and the only opinion I can offer is to remember the 1957 Farnborough air show when a Vulcan performed a full tactical take off for the assembled crowd and as it performed a near vertical climb towards the clouds I looked to the lad standing next to me and we both said WOW.
I doubt if they would be allowed to perform such a take off today however I find it encouraging that people are prepared to pay to keep one flying and if its flying inspires the youngsters of tomorrow like it did us in 1957 then all I would say is thank you.

Next year will be '558's last display season anyway so you've only got another year to wait before it will be retired to a museum. You'll no doubt be ecstatic
Stevie persuaded me to upload these, it took a bit of work in Lightroom 5 to make them remotely presentable...Duxford Saturday, and only the second time I have seen it since it flew again!

Not so much ecstatic about it more a feeling of relief if it actually makes it.
Perhaps the song sums things up
"Time to say goodbye"
My wife once made a good comment several years ago when we were caught in a thunderstorm at Newark. She said that the Vulcan made a good umbrella.

I don't see what harm it does to have classic, and greatly loved aircraft on the circuit. We need reminding of the period when we could design and build world class aircraft.
It looks like they are struggling this year to get the funds in, so perhaps it's fortuitous that the airframe is life expired next year.
My personal opinion has always been that it should be operated by the RAF, and there is no way that they could justify that in the defence budget. Im amazed that the RAF operated it for almost 10 years as a display aircraft, were questions never asked?
