Thanks! That clip is from the M4M documentary on the Vulcan I saw though I do wonder now how the bombs were supported and released in the 10 store configuration.

Re guns, wasn't there supposed to be structural provision for a tail gun/s in the design of the V Bombers?

I see from that video clip the three row 10 store carrier. Clearly this was one of many proposed option which never came into service. As with Victor and Valiant, there was an electrical interlock to prevent the release of upper bombs should lower bombs fail to release.

Yes there was a proposed rear hemisphere defence using a single remotely controlled 30mm ADEN gun in a barbette but it was just a dream, thank goodness!

The Vulcan documentary is currently showing on the EPG for a rerun on Channel 48 - M4M on the 11th June at 07:55. From what I saw of it it appears better than the usual M4M fair.

I've seen this great XH558 model on several occasions & it never fails to impress everybody. Bit of a sod to photograph against a white sky though!! These shots taken at Bruntingthorpe -

If only these where the real things -

Talking of the real thing...Here is the real thing at Throckmorton Airshow a few weeks ago performing a very nice wingover -

... at a very grey Cosford Airshow last Sunday -

Here's a few from me from Wellesbourne's Wings & Wheels event last Sunday. Two 'live' Vulcans at one airfield...it doesn't get much better than that! A record crowd attendance as well. -

XM655 -

XH558 -

..& a few more of 655 -

Nose wheel up...must have been so tempting to carry on!!! -

Tour maps with times will be posted with our newsletter on Friday and then hosted on our website, ready for your easy reference over the weekend.

Please note: The Salute to the V-Force sorties are long owing to the distances involved. XH558 will be taking off with a full fuel load, and will be very heavy at locations early in the sortie. What can be achieved at each location is limited by time, the weight of the aircraft, local air traffic control restrictions, and for non-airfield locations, the nature of the permission granted by the CAA. Consequently, please only expect flypasts at all locations.
