I'm about a mile and a half from Leiston airfield.

Hazelwood (Aldeburgh RFC) about 2 miles.
Bentwaters and Parham less than 8 miles.
11 miles to Holton or Woodbridge and 14 to Debach
Also 6 miles from High Street CH station and less than 4 from Dunwich CHL station

Living in Maidstone Kent my nearest Airfield is Detling approx 3 miles, then West Malling approx 6 miles after that there"s a wonderfull selection to choose from Gravesend, Manston, Hawkinge etc plus various ALG"s.
Spoilt for choice.

A friend of mine from the 'Dig' group had an Uncle who was based at Detling airfield during the early part of the war. Within a very hectic incident sadly he was struck by the leading edge of a taxiing aircraft which knocked him off his bike and killed him. RIP.
