Big clue-How many airfields do you know that had a railway built over them after they fell into disuse? I know of two, this one and Wildenrath, and it's not Wildenrath.
Perhaps if I zoom out a bit? Sorry my printer inks are on the way out.

Not Snailwell, it's further North. Another clue: A poor site in both wars.

Ossie obviously we are not in your league as regards WWI airfield recognition, perhaps its time to either give us a serious clue or to tell us where the hell this place is! A poor site in both world wars is not good enough as most of the sites in the UK comply to this criteria - thats why they built hard runways!!!

Ok. This site was chosen during WW1 to become a TDS, but was abandoned almost immediately in favour of a better site a few miles away.
During WW2 it was an RLG for a Polish unit, based primarily at the same Better Site.
The nearest pub is called The Griffins Head.
It's in Gods Own County!
C'mon! I'm sure this easier to get than some of the previous ones, where all you've got to go on is a Bellman or whatever!
