NA F-100D Super Sabre at Mildenhall, taken in 1991.

I didn't know there was one at Mildenhall. I've seen one at Lakenheath and I took a photo of one at Wethersfield - being followed by a couple on "snowdrops" - that was a few years back!

I suppose the Shackleton at St. Mawgan has long since gone but I remember seeing it in the last 10 years when driving by, so it could still be there.

Still there, and lovingly cared for by a loyal band of enthusiasts.

They've not scrapped the Phantom have they?

Do I take it MM that you are one of the "loyal band" with the lovely looking Shackleton?

The Phantom (really XV500 by the way) was sadly scrapped in August 07, leaving Saints without a gate guardian.

I was one of the band, but sadly had to give it up when I moved to Wales.
I was there from the beginning when we dragged it of the airfield for rebuild, went to Lossie to get spares and when WL756 came to St Mawgan to be used as spares source.

Trotted past the guards to get this in 1984. I assume it was relocated to Lakenheath?
When I think of Wethersfield I think of Red Bull but I don't know why!!!
