Thanks for that Dave, Lossie had 3 when I was there, Shackleton Gannet and Buccaneer. Do you really see them cutting up 607?

Binbrook's poor example of a Gate-Guard. Such a crying shame that this place full of our aviation history has come to this. My second visit in 20 years, a sad sight indeed !!

You can tell a builder from an archaeologist by the size of his trowel. Mine is a small one!

I think that the Lightning on the guate at Leuchars in 84 is now on 111 Sqns site, when I got to Leuchars it was parked up in the reventments on the south side of the airfield. There was also a Gannet and a Sea Prince parked there as well.

Canberra: XM144 was disposed of in 1994 and scrapped. The cockpit section was saved and is with an owner in Cumbria. The Lightning on the 111 Sqn site will probably be F3 XR713/8935M.

Just seen the pic of the Hunter on the gate at Valley, is it me or is the Hunter an elegant aircraft? Its a pity I never got to fly in one.

In my opinion probably one of the most graceful looking aircraft ever built, it just looked right.
