Be welcome Laurent

I've seen your books and are an excellent research/reference on the subject !

And your website is fascinating me by de number of airfields on such a small area....

Just continue in that direction !

6 RCAF Bomber Group (organisation, airfields, squadrons, aircarft, and their 70 crashes in Belgium (location, crew, evasion lines, cemeteries, PoW Camps, etc...). Busy for a couple of years !!!!!!

BAILLEUL - welcome. I have visited your web-site and enjoyed it very much. I have the following photobucket site where I add my europe photos. Not much of France yet, apart from Meudon Hauts-le-Seine, although Hahn and Bitburg were built by the French in 1950 (they are in the French Zone of Germany).

I am writing an extensive report on Allied Air Forces Central Europe, I dont know where exactly you are in France, but would you happen to know whether Camp Guynemer in the forest of Fontainebleau, the former AAFCE HQ is extant and whether its possible to visit?

You can tell a builder from an archaeologist by the size of his trowel. Mine is a small one!

Hi,

I leave in BAILLEUL (same city name than my name) in Flanders, beetwen Dunkirk and Lille. I'm just near Belgium border, near Ypres.
As you read, my area is connected with war history.

About your website, thanks. I haven't informations about Fontainebleau but we have in our group, members who live near Paris. I send your question.

Maybe we can open a new webpage with your photos.

Yours

Laurent

Cheers

Your Control Tower book is avbl second hand for about 20€ P&P included via "Abebooks"

But your "British Military Architecture" is not avbl below 85€... silly but just to give the value of your work ! ! ! ! !

Olympusman, the CT book is available new from the Airfield Research Group for about £6 or so. The Military Architecture book I thought was expensive at £19.99 when it came out, I wouldn't advise anyone paying 1p more than that for it now - let alone 85 euro. But thanks for the post. Stevie too thanks for the post, somehow I missed yours and have just read it.

Hello!

Not long registered here, and just thought I'd say 'Hello' for now until I get time to post something a little more interesting.

These boards are great, two years ago I would never have imagined so many people would share the same interests! Its very reassuring.

I noticed while reading through the boards that some of my fellow HAGs (Huntingdonshire Aviation Group) have already beaten me here.

My main interest has always been Bomber Command in the Cambridgeshire area, though recently I've been stockpiling material to read on 100 Group. Just need to find time to get stuck in to it.

Looking forward more reading and a bit of posting here.

Regards,

S.
