Hi all, just a few words to introduce myself. Greg, 44, Cardiff. I am the historian to the 100 Squadron Association, and am currently involved in re-writing the history of the squadron in time for the 100th anniversary of its formation in February 2017. I've joined here as I'm sure that during the course of writing the book I'll be looking for help on some of the airfields that 100 Squadron have been based at during their existence!!
Additionally I hope to be able to offer some help occasionally - I have most of the station and Base ORBs for all the 1 Group airfields between 1940 and 1945, and am happy to do look-ups for anyone looking for information.
Hi Greg
Welcome to the forum !
I was never on 100 sqn,but we still get the occasional visit from one of their Hawks at BD!
In the mid 70's I was based just down the peri track from the 'Boneyard' at Marham (I was on 231ocu) - where they (100 sqn) had a very eclectic collection of different Marks of Canberra - and in the early days I think some of them had the 85 sqn 'thruppeny bit' badge still on the fins : )

Baz - yes, the squadron had a proper hotch-potch of different marks in the 70s!! To all on 100 at the time, 85 Squadron was known as "8 to 5" and a lot of (mostly) friendly rivalry existed between the two. I have copies of some of the squadron newsletters from 192 and 1973, and the banter aimed towards 85 in them is pretty relentless Excuse my ignorance, but where is "BD"?
Welcome Greg.
I'm a fan and historian of the 'Magnificent 7' that were at St Mawgan, same odd mix of TT.18s, B.2s, T.4s and the ex 85 sqn T.19s as 'Tatty Ton' were using!
