Red Arrows Thread

On these occasions one always enjoys perusing the scribblings of the newspaper's online readership. (In this case the Daily Mail Online)

I enjoyed this one in particular...

It appears to me a really fast red plane flew really near to another really fast red plane, then there was some sort of altercation and thus resulted in a masive bump in the sky. 'OHHHH NO' one piolet can be heared shouting....'YOU CRAZY FOOL' replied the second piolet......Anyway no-one seriously hurt and a lesson for future is, try not to crash cos it isnt big and it isn't clever.

Just out of interest, but what is the average price of a BAE Hawk?
Would the Arrows be alloted another aircraft fresh from the factory, or one from a training squadron. Often wondered about these things!

I believe they were trying some new formations for this years events.

Hope they give up on this formation or they will run out of aircraft very quickly:(

Ironic that the MOD has £5 million to replace the crashed toy, but not enough for body armour in wars though!

You have just hit the boil on the head, there is replacement Hawks stored at Shawbury for the Arrows, no replacement for lives

They have a spare toy with them.

I remember many years ago attending an airshow when only 7 arrows flew the display. I think one went u/s at the last minute and they decided formations with 7 looked better than with 8.

The commentator usually flies to airshows in one, so there are usually 10 on location.
