Spent ages in my garden hoping to get a glimpse of her when she was supposed to came to the Clacton Air Show, but no luck not even any recognisable noise. Did get a lot of gardening done though.
Love all the photos on this thread, I am one of those lucky who saw the first all white trim one fly at Farnborough, I think? only a few days after the first test flight. A sight and a sound never to be forgotten!

Likewise here Pauline, loads of my customer's, and some people from work have all seen her, asking me if I had too. Typical ! and they have no real interest. Sod's law innit !!
Couldn't agree more. Saw a few other aircraft obviously from the show but not the one that mattered. I believe people in Kings Lynn saw her, it's never fair!

Here you go Pauline, The Vulcan over Clacton with one of the best 'vulcan howls' this year -
Wonderful. Thanks Steve. Are they allowed to take her up in a vertical climb any more? I can still remember the sheer excitement when we saw that early one climbing away from us at Farnborough. We had never seen anything like it before, and I shall never forget it, so huge and so white, and that howl !! Farnborough Air Shows then were something else !!
There a lot more gentler with her now although they do still put her into almost vertical climbs several times during it's display especially when Kev Rumans is flying her. Check out the take off in this clip from Waddington 2011 below. Looks almost like a roll rather than a wing over -
Yes Buccaneer I saw that it was stunning. The things that we saw at Farnborough then had to be seen to be believed, but these were test pilots who flew the aircraft, and they were heroes to us. I believe they regularly broke the rules just, presumably, for the thrill of it. How lucky those of us who saw it all were!
The videos send shivers down my back every time I look at them, and bring tears to my eyes as I remember watching such similar things with my father, it was he (ex RAF) who took me to Farnborough, there is still nothing like seeing an aircraft put through its paces to me, and I have him to thank.
CDP and myself saw it land at Doncaster yesterday on the way back from the ARG Display at Aeroventure. Just before joining the pilot asked ATC for the phone number of the Vulcan engineering guys, tower gave them a number and the crew asked if they would ring the engineers. Joining and landing was very sedate and following there was a very strong smell of seemingly unburnt fuel. Hopefully a minor fault?
