An opportunity has a arisen to book a table of ten at the event below. Cost is £5/head. If interested, please reply here or by PM to self or NJR (we'll both be going) to confirm a place. If there's sufficient interest, we'll book two tables for ARG members. Guests of members welcome but they will also need to pay £5.00.

At the sunset service, there will be (weather permitting) a flypast by the Vulcan.

For clarity the post elsewhere reads:

"The Transit belongs to Treberg (company which rents the tugs to the RAF) and is long term loan. No the brake chute will not go in the van as it is jammed with tools, spares and ground equipment.

The Mondeo is Taffs personal car and has been "stickerd up" as he usually does about 20,000 miles a year on company business.

The Focus belongs to Toni Hunter, she had her car tarted up (at her own expense) after she saw Taff's and she thought it was a good idea.

The BMW's are leased to the trust at a very reasonable rate (a deal organised by "the management" you are so fond of having a go at)"

Thanks Jerry, I didn't realise that and I'm really pleased to hear it. I've been quietly supporting XH558 over the years and I guess the total runs in to several hundred pounds by now and it's always great to get confirmation that the organisers are acting responsibly with the donations as well as doing their bit. I was talking to someone fairly recently about a similar thing, but he withdrew support when he found out that the fund was also supporting the flight crews "entertainment" when displaying to a somewhat greater extent than might be considered reasonable for a charitable organisation.

I have heard down the rumour grapevine that XH558 will be landing sometime on Sunday 28th August and parking up for a week.

It could well be possible. She's displaying at Dunsfold tomorrow and Monday. I've noticed that instead of returning back to Finningly(.. sorry..i mean Robin Hood Airport) after every airshow appearance they do seem to keep her at an RAF airfield in a perticular part of the Country if there's more shows in that area to come in the following week/weekend. It just so happens that she's appearing at Cosby Victory Show in Leicestershire and a possible fly past over Leicester Airfield next Sunday (4th Sept) so it would make sense for her to stay at Wittering tomorrow onwards. Hope so!!

A flypast over Bruntingthorpe's Cold War Jets Day on route to Witters tomorrow would be rather nice as well!!!8-)

Aborted I think, I took these at about 14:50 at Wittering, after a dsplay at Cottesmore. She seemed to come for an approach then headed north east, however an emergency landing was done at Conningsby before the return to Donny.

My Brother tells me that the Vulcan is parked half-way down the main runway at Coningsby. BBMF Lanc and Hurricane landed on the short cross-runway.

Jerry: You will have to sharpen up with the pictures - you missed out most of the control tower!
