Wasn`t there so can`t be sure, but I vote for less enthusiatic displays for historic aircraft. (remember Bud Holland and his B52 anyone?)
XH558 should be limited to no more than 90 degree angle bank during display routines so I'm told - this one looks more like about 100 degree's. Seen the Vulcan several times this year but was definately the most spirited display. We even had a much louder than usual power up and that classic howl that I remember from the 80's.
This years routines have certainly been the most spirited since her return to the skies. I've seen her display about eight times this season and some of the wingovers (especially the final one of the display routine) certainly looked passed the vertical to me as i watched.
I loved it...just like the old '558 displays of the late eighties and early nineties.
This short clip of the take off at RIAT shows the angle of bank she performs -
I love this short clip of it's missed approach at Yeolvilton Air Show press day. I especially love the way the heard of sheep run away absolutely horrified at the end of the runway as they pull on the power (excuse the usual dodgy youtube camera work!!)-
Yes Chris, it was nice wasn't it. Yesterdays formation flying with the Blades over Sywell was cancelled again because of the bloody consistant low cloud and drizzle over Sywell and Lyneham all day. Re-scheduled for next Wednesday (13th)!
