Nice one Mick. Well done by the way mate. Was a real shame the two events clashed with each other. Typical!!!
You would have loved it at Sywell last wednesday though. We were well and truly 'vulcanised'!!!! As you say fingers crossed she flies next year (i want to beat my '2010 seeing the vulcan 10 times in one season record!!!);)

Cheers,
Steve

Still think it would look better in anti-flash white. That's how all the books I had as a kid showed them.

Not that the funds for the Vulcan would EVER in a million years stretch to a new all-white anti-flash paint job i suppose but i wonder how much it would actually cost if it was possible? Any ideas anybody?

Vulcans were only white 1956 to around late 60s and you should try and keep a white one clean... not funny

Not sure of the year, but it was when the Vulcans switched to low level bombing, to go under soviet radar.

She's now at her home for this year, RAF Finningley.

I'm not sure that Finningley/Doncaster Robin Hood is a done deal yet but here's a You Tube clip of her visit ;

It is for the Summer at least. Extract from the round robin e-mail issued by the supporters club: "On Tuesday afternoon at 14:00, the last flying Vulcan touched down at Robin Hood Doncaster Sheffield Airport, the UK's newest commercial airport. It was a historic moment for XH558 and for her pilot, Squadron Leader Martin Withers, as both man and machine had been based at the airfield when it was RAF Finningley, 'home of the Vulcans'. XH558 is to spend the summer based at the airfield and it is hoped that she will be there for much longer, allowing the development of a visitor centre that will eventually be linked to a facility to inspire the next generation of engineers and technicians.
