That's exactly why they kept it quite! Apparently, if they had advertised it they would have had to treat it as an air display with all the ensuing traffic management and Police presence as there would have been a few people there! This week's latest from the newsletter:
"Although we are yet to finalise details for our presence at Robin Hood, we do need to start looking for a pool of available local volunteers. If you have any particular skills or experience in retailing, meeting the public or in general logistics, or are willing to learn, then please contact our marketing manager Ian Homer, who will co-ordinate a future seminar in the area once we are able to judge our needs. Please email any availability like weekends or weekdays, together with any preferred aspect of work to: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. So, XH558 and Mr Monkey, if you are that close......
Anybody any idea when the official DVD of last years Vulcan display season is getting released? As far as i'm aware it's produced and filmed by Planes TV again but the release date keeps getting pushed back.
Can't really be sure of the exact date without contacting my mate who was there and writes all these things down. Also my published account of our trip to Lincolnshire which included our visit to Waddington, and can be found in the EAG [Essex Aviation Group] newsletter of 1988 is at REF's place right now, so I can't check that either. I'm sure it was '87-88? but of course I may well be wrong....no surprise there !! You must have VERY GOOD EYESIGHT to be able to see the code numbers on that small speck in the sky....
