You can tell a builder from an archaeologist by the size of his trowel. Mine is a small one!

Does look more like a factory site. So Hamble would be a good choice Daveg4otu. Can you make out A. V. Roe written on the front hoarding?
I can only think of somewhere like Cowley. What about the gasometers though.

Well done Hugo - it took me ages to get it right as well .
That runway looks just a little tight!
Peter - I was thinking Oil tanks but - yes they do look more like gasometers- which means I'm wrong.

Convined it's a factory airfield but can't place the gasometers. Pre-fab a clue? Hmmm. New a lot of pre-fabs in the 60's and 70's but most have gone now, none anywhere near an airfield.

An airfield that was turned over to the manufacture of pre-fabs in 1945 ??
Thanks for your comments Dave. It's a brand new microlight strip at Carrickmore
near Omagh Co Tyrone. I believe it's the shortest tarmac strip in Ireland at 340m.
A quarry at the N end and a 100ft gully at the S end. So landing on either heading,
for sure DONT undershoot or over-run.
