Never really thought about this before. Would like to include all types of track, Tarmac, Rallycross,1/4 mile etc.
Here`s two to start.
Silverstone
Croft
Long Marston (Avon Park Raceway) Elvington, Carnaby, there were probably lots that started up after the war, with people blasting round the peri track, but didnt last, how about dunsfold (Top Gear)
Not a racetrack anymore but former USAAF Boreham Airfield near Chelmsford was used as one from 1949 to 1952 Mike Hawthorn and Stirling Moss have raced there.
Also at Gosfield i believe that the main runway can be hired out as a test track.
Martin.
Explorer of Airfields and Aviation memorials.
Manby - now called Motorplex and used for a number of motorsports.
I think a lot of airfield sites have been used as ad-hoc motor-racing venues. For example, West Raynham used by RAF Motor Sports Association for bike racing in the 90s, and following closure as a rally special stage etc.
Strubby was used as a venue for land yachts and more recently a permenant karting track has been laid. Again, several airfield have been used for karting.
