How Many Racetracks Were Airfields??

East Fortune, still used today for Motor cycles . Bruggen kart racing on the taxiways. Laarbruch had a form of stock car racing but not sure of the correct title- it was on the taxiways of 15 sqn site.

Hibaldstowe (previously as a stage on Lincs stage rally events and g-karting)
Manby (all sorts)
Ludford Magna (rally stage)
North Coates ( formerly rallying - single and multi-venue, usually the appropriately-named Bloodhound Stages and the strangely named Waitangi Stages)
Dunholme Lodge (public road on road rallies)
Metheringham (public road on road rallyies)
Scampton (rallying, single venue charity event with proceeds split between the Richard Burns Foundation and RAFA or related charities)
Norton (Sheffield - autotests in years gone by)
Breighton (Selby & District Motor Club have their club house in one of the tech site buildings and hold autotests on site)
Waltham/Grimsby (go-karting)

Ibsley 1951 - 1955
Worthy Down - was a Racecourse before the airfield took overthe land in 1917.

Thornaby was used for some serious racing for a couple of years immediately after the RAF left. For me it was a great opportunity to get inside that peri-track!

Blyton in Lincoln shire is also a race tract i think for go carts .

Hi, i know this may sound a little crazy and maybe not the usual questions you would get on here, but i race motorbikes and my season has just finished and my practice starts are quite poor and need a place where i can take my race bike and practice my starts. Does anyone know someone that owns an airstrip that i could contact to ask for permission to do this? i live in windsor and need to know where the nearest airstrip is.

any help would be great
