How Many Racetracks Were Airfields??

I know its stretching it a bit by just down the hill from Barkston Heath is Syston Park, speed trials were held there pre war and I see the course is being use again.

surprised no one mentioned Brooklands, though technically I suppose it was a racing track to airfield!
And RAF Melbourne near York was/is the 'New York Dragway'

i used to work with a chap selling classic British motorcycle spares from a market type stall at events up and down the country one venue was at North Weald and along with the autojumble on at least one occasion was classic bike drag racing .I cant remember who organised it but we even worked at an autojumble at London Airport !!!!n .Of course Long Marston is now the Venue for the Bulldog Bash "festival "arranged by "Hells Angels "and much motorcycle events are carried out during it.

Dunsfold is used by McLaren 2 or 3 days per week to teach buyers of their M3 car how to drive it; this includes high speed runs along the runway but for how much longer I don't know as housebuilding is 'imminent' and indeed may already have started hence the annual 'Wings and Wheels' show being in June this year instead of August BH.
