How Many Racetracks Were Airfields??

talking of karting tracks linton has its own kart track

Anyone mention Pembrey?

Stoke Orchard and Staverton were used for motorbike racing and Little Rissington for karting. Chedworth has hosted a few autotests. Down Ampney is used for Rallying.

I came across this website years ago that tried to record every UK circuit and their varying layouts and there were a LOT of old-airfields in it even if some where used for just one race.

Bournemouth - Ensbury Park(Horse and greyhound racing as well as Air races) 1920s.

i dont know if this counts In the late 60s just after Martlesham had closed, The Santa Pod People held a drag racing event on the old runway. it attracted alarge crown but they never had another one. I remember it well

Jurby in the Isle of Man is used for testing bikes for the TT & GP. I took a Yamaha 750 down the runway when spannering for a Manx GP rider and have seen a race course on the place made up of traffic cones.

Ouston, Northumberland late 50's/early 60's-RAF were still there at the time. Now Albemarle Barracks for Royal Artillery and nuclear weapons convoy stopover point?

Barkston was used a few times in my time there for motorcycle racing.

And Im stunned that no one has mentioned Brooklands!
