When stationed at Wittering in the eighties, i remember The Harrier T4 scenes in the bond film "The living Daylights" were filmed on a set built at the top end of Wittering airfield. I remember the film crew being there as they were invited into the corporals club!

Anyone remember Shirley Basseys series on the bbeb in the late seventies? IIRC the beginning showed her flying in Harrier.

I remember her series, though I thought it began by showing a rocket launching complete with countdown.

Airline had some shots done at Rufforth

They also filmed quite a bit at Church Fenton in the beginning of the 80's, can't remember much about it apart from having a DC3 there at the time.

You can tell a builder from an archaeologist by the size of his trowel. Mine is a small one!

Did anyone see 'Torchwood' last night?

The Cowbridge overflow camp looks as though it was filmed on an airfield, but which one?

Yes TOB I noticed the K and E sheds too but not sure where, some of it looked like Lynham though.

Cowbridge' suggests Llandow - but there are no 'E's Lyneham also has no Es. I didn't spot any J/Ks
Aston Down, Hullavington, Kemble are possibilities, however I assumed St Athan as it's down the road

I think it's the Picketston site as details seem to fit especially the picket post and the extension on the south-east corner of the hangar. link

Plan A is always more effective when the problem you are working on understands that Plan B will involve the use of dynamite

Looking at the aerial view on your link Carnaby, I think this could be it.

Thanks, TOB.
