There are Bombing Range Targets mentioned at Portstewart, On the northern shore of Lough Neagh and the western shore of the Ards Peninsula near Greyabbey.
If you have any info with any Irish Grid refs that would be great. Could you post anything in the Bombing Ranges section, maybe create a Northern Ireland thread?
I registered for OSNI a few years back and it has some good older maps with airfields but nothing postwar for Kilkeel/Greencastle. The NIEA viewer in you link is great especially if you get the scale right and it shows 1960/70s era maps.
I like your website. It covers a wide range of subjects so hopefully will generate a lot of interest. I might have something on HAA sites in the Carrickfergus area, but don't hold me to it!

I am a brand new member having joined a couple of days ago (O/A November 19, 2009). WWII airfields have been a fascination for me for many years. The central valley of California was a great flight training area during WWII...many airbases and associated auxiliary fields. Today the remains of many of the airfields still exist and its still neat to search them out although sadly numerous airfields have returned to agriculture usage. My airfield explorations have taken me to the former B-29 fields of Saipan, Tinian and Guam. Have also visited Truk, Ponape, Biak, Port Moresby, Rabaul, Roi-Namur, Australia, New Zealand etc. Have visited a few of the USAAF and RAF fields in the UK as well. So many airfields...so little time.
My website is called 'The Second World War in Northern Ireland' and can be found at www.ww2ni.webs.com
Re the Carrickfergus HAA I was in that area a few days ago taking pictures. The one you mention may be at Seamount just past Kilroot on the way towards Whitehead.
Good site and I have plenty of pictures, some of which will be on my website soon. - On the same trip I was at another HAA site on Islandmagee which includes a Radar platform and then I went up around the Ballymena area to a few of the old Refugee camps where Gibraltar Citizens stayed during the war.
Much remains and I got plenty more piccies - Including some Second World War vintage litter which had Navy Cut cigarette box!!
