British Military Airfield Architecture - Paul Francis

I am prepared to republish it but the problem is and always been finding the money to pay for printing. What i need is someone to advise on how this can be achieved or a partner. I have been also put off by the lack of sales of the last one (airfield defences) which i funded.

How much does a print run of, say 100, cost? I'm not offering to pay but it might be worth getting money up front, via this forum/ARG website, and ensure that at least 30 are guaranteed sold and price them such as they pay for the 100 plus some money for the ARG funds. Around fifty were promised in this thread but that was over quite a few years. If it all falls though money can be refunded or just not taken. A mini version of crowd funding.

Print on demand has also been suggested already. Also what about copies for official bodies (RAFM, FAAM IWM etc)?

Would it be sold outside the ARG membership as I didn't think Airfield Defences was publicly available - maybe it should be?

We had an interesting talk at the local history society from a local author, someone asked about costs and he gave quite detailed answer which I can't remember all the details! He had his book published by Birlinn who specialise in Scottish titles and lowish print runs. They keep their costs down by not spending much (if anything) on promotion, they only distribute to the big bookshop chains but leave it to him to take the book around local shops, museums etc. I think he said he gets about £6 from the £10 cover price.

ARG members can download free pdfs of various reports compiled by me from the web site.

The book or series of books will be entirely different.
