I am finding the gimmick of the numbers counting up, very annoying. Not sure if I will survive to the end of the programme.

Missed both but I suspect, like most modern documentaries it is 35 mins of content per hour with a chunk taken due to adverts and the rest made up of repetition to keep the brain dead happy.

The whole sorry state of affairs is encapsulated very well in That Mitchell and Webb Look - Gift Shop Sketch :)

The best part of the programme was the use of the EU "anthem" as background music as the Nazis moved into various countries!

Apollo 13 is on ITV at 1350 today. Yes we all know the outcome but still a very good film.

This was repeated last night. Some interesting footage including Stenigot which was done as part of a survey of sites in Lincolnshire during the dry Summer. I am sure the commentary suggested that the four old large dishes were used for detecting incoming missiles though I suppose technically they were receiving that information from elsewhere but anyone watching would think they were radar. It claimed they had "discovered" the old GEE site but I am sure it would be already known.

The summer of 76 was even hotter(30 days of a temperature of at least 30c, never happened before or since), so didnt that summer reveal any archaelogical remains from the air?
